Common Dolphin Fish

Mahi-Mahi or Common Dolphinfish, should not be confused with dolphin which is a mammal. To clear this misunderstanding, it is called Mahi in most of the regions. In Spanish it is called Dorado and in Hawaiian it is Mahi-Mahi. Most of the other regions call it Mahi

It is the most exciting game fish to catch and see in open ocean. Out of the water, the fish often change color to golden and then there are several changes like dark blue, green before finally changing to yellow-grey color upon death.

It is mostly found in warm waters through out the world and has average weight of 7 to 13 kilograms (15 to 29 lb). It can be purchased in stakes or fillets form and is simply eaten grilled or broiled.
